With music, camaraderie and revelry, Ghost Baby is honored to breathe new life into this historic space.

Drop down anytime, Tuesday through Sunday, for an unexpected happy hour or quick cocktail connect. The Rattle Room was born to host impromptu meetups, clandestine or otherwise. A hand-crafted, ornate bar styled after a baby’s rattle is the centerpiece of this room that doubles as an undercover hideaway from the everyday, and as the gateway to the classically appointed Ghost Baby Den. Convene a hushed conversation on one of the plush sofas circling the room, or join lively exchanges pulled up to the bar.

Reservations are never required to secure your secluded spot upfront.

Denizens and first-timers, alike, are greeted by opulent simplicity as they’re ushered into the effervescently luminous, acoustically brilliant, half-domed clubroom and pause to take in the surroundings. A spotlit, velvet-curtained stage commands attention even before a single note escapes from the ever-changing, eclectic omnibus of artists. Slide into a bountiful banquette or take your place front and center at a lamplit, marble bistro table and peruse a sparkling list of libations, custom crafted to complement the ambience and perfect your evening. Reservations ensure your place at a place designed to take your breath away.

More than 150 years ago, before refrigeration, brewing companies used underground lagering tunnels for cooling and aging the beer they produced. Ghost Baby is located in the tunnels formerly used by a Cincinnati brewing company; four stories under Vine street. The company discontinued beer production in the 1850's and these tunnels have remained vacant since.

In the last few years, Union Hall has occupied the ground level spaces in the building, which spans the block between Vine and Republic streets. In an effort to revitalize the underground area, workmen were sent in to set-up lighting fixtures. The only way to enter into the tunnels was to descend via a long ladder. After installation of the first bare bulb, the contractor made his way back up the ladder to retrieve a second bulb. When he returned, he found the first bulb shattered. The attached wire was swinging, as if it had been hit by someone or something. He shone his flashlight into the dark tunnel, but saw nothing. Since that day, other people in the space have reported hearing strange noises from time to time. Some have even said you can hear a baby crying.
